What is Wreaths Across America?
Wreaths Across America is a nonprofit organization that holds annual wreath-laying ceremonies at veterans' gravesites on National Wreaths Across America Day, typically the second or third Saturday of December, with the mission to "Remember the fallen, Honor those who serve, and Teach the next generation the value of freedom". Volunteers, including many children, place live balsam wreaths on headstones, saying the servicemember's name out loud to keep their memory alive. Beyond the December event, the organization supports year-round programs focused on veteran services, education, and community involvement.
