Chief Petty Officer Benoit
Chief Benoit joined the program as a league cadet in 2019 where he attained the rank of Petty Officer Second Class, he fleeted up in 2021 where he achieve the rank of Chief in 2024.
He is currently serving as the Command Chief.
He has been an invaluable asset to T.S. Mervyn S. Bennion and has contributed significantly to its overwhelming success of the unit. Chief Benoit is a strong manager and leader who works tirelessly to assist with the leading and training of the League Cadets in his command.
During the summer training of 2025 at Camp Williams he was selected as galley chief. Chief Benoit was instrumental in the successful operation of the galley and food service. He was responsible for the planning, preparation and serving of over 200 staff and cadets with three meals a day for 11 days, always having the meals prepared and ready to eat on time without incident. Chief Benoit was also a supervisor of the cadet’s barracks and was responsible for ensuring safety and following the rules of all the cadets after hours. Resulting in minimal injuries to personnel and zero property damage. Chief Benoit sets a fine example of the Naval Sea Cadet Corps core values of Honor, Courage, and Commitment.
